Step 1 — General Settings #
The General Settings page is the starting point for configuring SchemaEngine AI. It controls the three core feature toggles that determine which major capabilities are active on your site.
Navigation Path
| WordPress Admin Dashboard → SchemaEngine AI → Settings → General |

How to Navigate to This Page #
- Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, click SchemaEngine AI.
- Click Settings in the submenu.
- Ensure the General tab is selected (highlighted in purple in the sidebar).
- The General Settings panel appears on the right side of the screen.
Available Settings #
This page contains three toggle switches. Each is described below with its purpose, default state, and effect when enabled or disabled.
1) Enable Schema: Activates structured data (JSON-LD) markup across your site. When enabled, SchemaEngine AI injects schema.org markup into your pages, helping search engines understand your content and display rich snippets in search results (e.g. star ratings, FAQs, breadcrumbs).
Default: Enabled (toggle is ON)
- ON — JSON-LD markup is output on the front end for all configured schema types.
- OFF — No schema markup is generated. All schema output is suppressed site-wide.
2) Enable Review: Activates the review and rating system. When enabled, visitors can submit reviews and star ratings on your site. This setting also unlocks WooCommerce review integration, media upload options within reviews, and all other review-related features in the plugin.
Default: Enabled (toggle is ON)
- ON — Review submission forms appear on supported post types. WooCommerce review overrides and media settings become configurable.
- OFF — Review system is disabled. The Review and Media settings tabs may have no effect.
3) Enable Affiliates: Activates affiliate review functionality, allowing reviews to be associated with affiliate products or links. This is useful for sites running affiliate marketing campaigns where user reviews are tied to affiliate product recommendations.
Default: Disabled (toggle is OFF)
- ON — Affiliate review features are available throughout the plugin.
- OFF — Affiliate review features are hidden and inactive.
Saving Changes #
After toggling any setting, click the Save Changes button located in the bottom-right corner of the screen. A confirmation notice will appear at the top of the page once the settings are saved successfully.
Important Notes #
- The Enable Review toggle also governs the visibility of review-related child settings tabs (e.g. Review, Media). Disabling it hides those configuration options.
- Changes to these toggles take effect immediately on the front end after saving — no cache clearing is required by the plugin itself, though third-party caching plugins may need a manual flush.
